Men of the Ogun State Police Command has arrested a 42-year-old prophet identified as Olusola Akindele for allegedly killing his lover, Iya A for ritual purpose.
The prophet was arrested alongside an accomplice identified as Pastor Ayodele Bamiduro.
Akindele was said to have smashed his lover’s head with a wood that looks like pestle after they had sex in his rented apartment located in Itoki, Agbado, Ogun state.
After smashing the wood on her head, he was alleged to have cut off her hands and removed her intestines which he took to his accomplice, Pastor Bamiduto who is the founder of Lion of Judah Church of Christ on Robiyan Street, Abule Ijoko.
The two suspects later buried the chopped hands, head and intestines on the church premises.
The state commissioner of Police, Ahmed Iliyasu, while confirming the incidence described the incidence as ‘act of conspiracy, murder, and ritualism’.
He disclosed the decomposing body of the woman was found in an uncompleted building on the 10th of August and reported to the Police by the Baale of Igbore.
The Commissioner said, “On that day, the woman went to visit him as usual and after they made love, the woman dozed off. The suspect surreptitiously brought out a pestle-like wood with which he smashed her head.
“He later cut off her head and two hands before he threw the remains into the uncompleted building next to his residence.
“The severed head and the two hands of the victim were buried at the back of the Lion of Judah Church of Christ at Robiyan Avenue belonging to Ayodele Bamiduro.”
Speaking to the Punch, the suspect, Bamidele said he can not explain how he killed his lover of two years.
He said, “We had been lovers for two years; she sold alcoholic drinks and she had been pestering me to help her with N10,000.
“That day, she came as usual and I never knew what came upon me as I killed her by smashing her head.”
The suspect accomplice, Pastor Bamidele did not deny knowing Akinduro but he denied sending him to kill anyone.
